VICTORIA CROSS BIBLIOGRAPHY

Many books have been written about the Victoria Cross and its recipients. The first published work on the subject appeared in 1857 - the same year as the first VC investiture. Until now there has been no comprehensive bibliography of the Victoria Cross. This volume represents the efforts of a team of researchers in Britain, Canada and Australia, and is divided into three sections: Part 1 contains a listing of 630 key VC titles, each with a description and annotation * Part 2 lists over 100 non-fiction and fictional books written by VC recipients but unrelated to the VC * Part 3 is the Index, which lists, in alphabetical order, every VC recipient and records the date of the "London Gazette" citation. Additionally, it identifies the books in which the recipients are referred to in detail, enabling the researcher to quickly identify key works. This work is an important contribution to VC literature and is an essential reference to anyone with an interest in the decoration.
