The first of several highly collectable military uniform volumes based on a unique and previously unpublished collection of 1,300 colour pictures painted by Charmy, the celebrated Napoleonic expert from the early 20th Century. These paintings, and the author's own accompanying text, had been kept in archives in France up to now, with no previous attempt to publish them. This book is a collector's item: over 230 beautiful colour plates showing Napoleonic cavalryman in full uniform, plus thousands of details of headdress, decoration, insignia, sidearms and horse accoutrements.
