RUSSIAN STRATEGIC AVIATION TODAY

This sequel to 'Soviet Strategic Aviation in the Cold War' looks at all aspects of the Russian fleet of 'Blackjack', 'Bear' and 'Backfire' aircraft including their missiles, bombs and service with the 37th Air Army. Many uses of these aircraft are featured, including Vladimir Putin's 2005 ride in a Tu-160 when he participated in a major exercise and performed a live missile launch. Recent exercises undertaken by the 37th Air Army are included with numerous photographs and the famous visit of two Tu-160s to Venezuela when they caused much consternation in the USA.
