ROAD TO BERLIN

This book, and the companion "The Road to Stalingrad" is, quite simply, the best work on the War on the Eastern Front, and in my mind one of the best military books written. Indispensable. It is the second, concluding volume of Professor John Erickson's magisterial history of the Russian Front. Beginning with the recapture of Stalingrad and the annihilation of the German Sixth Army, he describes the last great German offensive in the East in 1943 and then the progressive Soviet advance that took them all the way to Berlin.
