REPUBLIC P-47 THUNDERBOLT

Commencing with a brief history of the Seversky/Republic company, the book tells the story of the developments that led to the mighty P-47 Thunderbolt. The series evolution of the aircraft is covered in separate chapters from the initial P-47B up to the very last P-47N-25-RE (including details of the G versions built by Curtiss-Wright), experimental variants being covered separately. Operational use with the US Air Force and details of service with the wartime Russian air force are also dealt with, and the book rounds off with a section looking at the aircraft from a technical point of view. The profile has 73 black and white photographs and detailed 1:72 drawings illustrating the differences between the versions, (including seven pages of 1:72 scale plans featuring both "Razorback" P-47 D-22 and "Bubble Top" D-30 machines and the revised wing N-15 variant.
