Panzer Tracts No 3 Part 5 covers Panzerkampfwagen III Umbau -
Conversions to Z.W.40, PzKpfw III (T), PzKpfw III (Funk), PzKpfw III (Fl),
Pz.Beob.Wg.III, SK 1, Brueckenmaterialtraeger, and Munitionspanzer
Now for the first time the defining features of each converted PzKpfw
III have been correctly identified and significant modifications correctly
sorted out. This has been made possible by over forty years of research in
private and public archives, chassis number analysis, and the assistance of
friends sharing rare photos with legible chassis numbers. A surviving
Pz.Beob.Wg.III turret allowed us to correctly draw the unique details on the
turret roof and modified gun mantle. Hundreds of hours were spent precisely
measuring surviving PzKpfw III to create new four-view 1/35 scale drawings. In
accordance with our high standards, the text and data are based solely on
primary sources. 35 scale drawings and 59 photos illustrate this 52 page
book.
