The Junkers Ju88 is one of the most famous bombers of World War II. Originally conceived as a twin-engined high-speed bomber in 1935-1936, the aircraft underwent numerous design changes in the years that followed. More than three thousand improvements or changes were made to the basic design in the years between 1937 and 1944, resulting in more than sixty variants and six major production versions, of which the Ju88A-4 was built in by far the largest numbers.
