GERMAN FORCES IN THE FIELD NOVEMBER 1918

This book provides the Order of Battle of the German Army as at 11th November 1918 as known to the British General Staff, and as such it makes an interesting supplement to "Histories of 251 Divisions of the German Army" also available from Barbarossa Books. The latter gives a year-by-year composition of the divisions and the 1918 entries can be compared with those in this book. It lists all Army Corps Districts with their Headquarters locations and shows the composition of all divisions including reserve, Landwehr and ersatz, and naval. Landsturm infantry regiments are listed as are Landwehr District Headquarters with the Army Corps Districts to which they belonged, and a table of Headquarters and Depots. One of the two maps is a copy of a captured German map, dated 30th October 1918, showing the deployment of the German Forces on the Western Front; the other is a copy of a British map showing the assumed German deployment on 9th November 1918.
