This is the first part in an exhaustive two volume reference set on all the Luftwaffe’s dive-bomber and ground attack units, including information on all their operations throughout the war. All sixteen Stuka Geschwader, 17 ground-attack and twenty night-harassment units are covered, along with their component staff flights, Gruppen and specialist anti-tank units. The two volumes are divided into the early and late phases of the war and cover pre-war formation, designation and reorganisation until the final demise of the Luftwaffe. This study is an awesome feat of research and the authors, both of whom are highly respected experts in this field, provide an astonishing array of information which has never been published before.
