CAP OF HONOUR: 300 YEARS OF THE GLOUCESTERSHIRE REGIMENT

One of the most famous of the English county regiments, "The Glosters" carried more battle honours on their colours than any other Line regiment of the British Army. They were also unique in the Army for being the only regiment to wear a badge on the back of the cap as well as on the front, in recognition of an incident at the Battle of Alexandria in 1801. This third and final edition brings the three-hundred year story of this world-famous regiment to a close. It is generously illustrated with photographs, paintings and line drawings from the Regimental collection.
